Priority Thinking®
– The Book
Coming Soon!
We are pleased to announce the good progress we
continue to make on our book, "Priority Thinking: How to Keep Your
Priorities Straight in a World of Risk and Opportunity", due out in
late 2008.
Presently, extensive primary source interviews
are underway with business executives, healthcare professionals,
educators, and military and political leaders.
What
should our priorities be?
It seems like a common sense question with a common sense answer. We
think we know the answer. Yet we fail to do what we know we should
do. Why? This is the Question we explore and the Problem we resolve.
Most managers treat priorities as transitory and shifting to the
situation of the moment. And on the surface this is appropriate to
specific circumstances. But realigning tactical priorities on the
fly can violate fundamental priorities that must never change. The
challenge in any organization is how to keep its priorities straight
when the demands on it overwhelm its current talent, capacity and
resources.
What makes Priority Thinking® unique?
You can learn the right priorities. They exist, are knowable to all
and never change. Too often we can become confused by having to
balance the perceived demands of stakeholders when in reality the
challenge is to keep our principles intact by the priorities we
practice.
What is the key to sustained value creation?
The best companies already practice sound priorities, and these
priorities are the same across any organization. Businesses get in
trouble when they ignore or violate the priorities. If you want to
make money and fulfill your business purpose, you have to keep your
priorities straight! The difference lies in knowing the necessary
means and the correct ends to your work and your organization. Our
book helps you to make the right decisions for sustained value
creation in a risky world.
Who is this book written for?
The application of Priority Thinking® is for everyone in your
business or organization. From front line employees and their
supervisors to the Chief Executive level of your organization,
Priority Thinking is for everyone and required of all if you want to
build a culture of excellence and generate sustained value creation
over the long run.
