The four Daily Operating
Priorities lay the foundation for sustainable
high-performance in any organization. There is
a wide gulf between eliminating defects and waste
through operational excellence techniques and effecting
strategic change. Yet the priorities both enable
the former AND accomplish the latter. The four
operating priorities provide a stable order for each
day, and align each employee's decision-making authority
to his/her respective level of responsibility. By
thus aligning operational decisions to the priorities,
leaders can create more time to think and act on the
broader strategic issues of the business.
