Ethics Training

"The world just works better that way . . . "

~ William F. Murdy, CEO ComfortSystems USA

Ethics is more than simply following the rules.   The long lists of Do's and Don'ts that characterize modern business ethics has led to a loophole-mentality that has been the ruin of many an executive, and a major obstacle to the flourishing of many large organizations.  Ethics Training the Priority Thinking way  helps participants to discover that ethics isn't just about what they can't do, it's about what they can do to live a happier and more meaningful life, both at work and at home.   By leading participants to acknowledge the ethical significance of even the smallest decisions they make every day,  our training re-enforces the simple truth that the surest way to ethical behavior - and thus to personal flourishing - is to develop the habit of practicing sound priorities.

Series Objective:
To help employees at all levels of responsibility to better understand their own ethical decision-making processes, and begin to foster in them the habit of seeking and doing the right thing.  In other words, to help employees develop the character and the competence to practice sound priorities.

Course Modules Include (but are not limited to):
? What is Ethics?
? The Priority of Ends over Purpose
? Applied Business Ethics & Organizational Flourishing
? Ethics and Corporate Culture
? Ethics and Human Resource Management
? Ethics on the Factory Floor

Ethics in the Situation

Many people today have fallen prey to Situational Ethics, the idea that "whatever works" in a particular situation is ethical as long as it's not breaking any explicit rules.  In contrast to this moral relativism, we prefer Ethics in the Situation, an approach that teaches employees a practical way to apply unchanging ethical principles in real circumstances.
