The Golden Mean of Priority Thinking

"To go beyond is as wrong as to fall short."
                                           ~ Confucius, Analects

The Golden Mean lies in our capacity to exercise the right effort on the right tasks at the right time.  It is a simple truth that there will always be more to do than there is time to do it.  Practicing sound priorities requires that the limitations of time and resources be navigated carefully, or opportunities will be squandered and the mission left incomplete.  The Golden Mean of Priority Thinking provides a practical framework for finding the right course of action by measuring what is necessary to achieve the end against the real conditions in which we operate.

Course Objective:
To help organizational leaders of all levels of responsibility to learn and apply the Golden Mean of Priority Thinking framework to set the proper priorities in each situation.

Course Topics Include (but are not limited to):
? Looking for Quality not Quantity
? The "Either/Or" Trap
? The Priority of Ends over Purpose
? Organizational Mission: the Principle Task
? Maintaining a PT Culture

The Priority "AND"

Many leaders mistakenly turn setting priorities into an "either/or" exercise.  In fact, however, the term priority implies an "AND."  If something doesn't have to be done, it's not a low priority . . . it's not a priority at all!
