The Philosophy of Priority Thinking

"One's philosophy is not best expressed in words; it is expressed in the choices one makes... and the choices we make are ultimately our responsibility."
                                                   ~Eleanor Roosevelt

Priority Thinking is the natural process of putting life's guiding principles into action.  The principles that we hold dear as human beings are the starting points for the way we act, so it's not just inconsistent to believe one thing and do another . . . it's impossible.  When we make certain behaviors a priority, we make a choice that those behaviors are truly important to us and we express that choice in our actions.  The philosophy of Priority Thinking helps leaders to clarify what is and ought to be truly important to them, and provides a framework for acting on those priorities to build a culture that enables individuals and organizations to flourish.

Course Objective:
To help organizational leaders at the Middle Management and Senior level begin to recognize the essential connection between how we think and how we act, and the necessity of a "framework of intent" for employees.

Course Topics Include (but are not limited to):
? Principles as Starting Points for Daily Life
? Priorities as Principles in Action
? Recognizing your true Priorities
? Priorities in Practice - from Theory to Reality
? Shaping your Organizational Priorities
? Forming a Culture of Priority Thinking

What is Philosophy?

Quite literally, philosophy is the love (philo) of wisdom (sophos).  We consider Priority Thinking to be a philosophy of sorts because it is more than a model for organizational success.  In fact, Priority Thinking and the proper alignment of priorities flow from the fundamental questions of our existence: How should we live?  And, how should we live together?
